Lethe
Name: Wanderer
Age: 42 (unaging due to magic)
Race: red deer - wild mage
Story: [Anathema ARPG]
Personality:
Quiet, strange, and solitary from a life lived on his own in the Sunless Jungle, Wanderer largely keeps his head down and focuses on staying hidden from the searching eyes of Namarast's Witchfinders. He's mostly focused on practicality and survival, or so he tells himself, but that hasn't stopped him from sometimes putting himself in harm's way even when it would have served him better to stand aside. Corruption and corrupted mages unsettles him deeply, and Wanderer opposes it on a deep, visceral level.
If Wanderer tries to be a part of the background, his familiar Cirrus is the polar opposite. The crow is curious, impulsive, and quick to ignore the rules when it suits him; he's always ready to dive headlong into whatever interesting thing catches his interest, and it's gotten the two of them into trouble on a disconcertingly regular basis. At his core, though, Cirrus is wholeheartedly dedicated to his mage. He's been there for Wanderer as long as the deer can remember, and is quick to react at any sign of threat.
Backstory:
Having lived in the Sunless Jungle for as long as either can remember, Wanderer and Cirrus have always been happy just getting by; Wanderer is a wild mage with a power of radiating fear and predatory instinct, and they've been able to eat out a simple life hunting and traveling the wilds of Southern Ivras. However, political instability in the world beyond have brought an end to this peaceful existence. As policy and public opinion concerning ungoverned wild mages grows ever more hostile, the Witchfinders have begun delving into the depths of the wilds. Now Wanderer and Cirrus have left the jungle behind, traveling into populated lands unknown in a bid to retain their freedom...
Additional Notes:
- Anathema has both four-legged and human AUs; either can be drawn, but no mixing of the two in one picture!
- Wanderer's wings are optional; when they're out, his 'wing' markings are on the dorsal surface of the wings instead of on his flanks/back.
- in four-legged AU, Wanderer can be drawn 'clothed' or 'unclothed'; in human form, he obviously wears clothes.
