Hunter & Gray
HUNTER
>>> Hunter's Refs: main ref / outfit 1 / outfit 2 As the Reaper, servant to the god of fate, it's Hunter's job to put those live past their fated expiration date to rest. Though he's very kindhearted as a person, he takes this responsibility extremely seriously and won't be turned aside from his duty. He met Gray while 'on the job' years ago, and has more recently crossed paths with her again upon arriving in Void City. Hunter has a bit of a soft spot for lost causes and cares deeply about Gray. He feels partially responsible for her disconnect from reality, but appreciates that she can understand his between-two-worlds existence as a result. Gray fully accepts and embraces him as what he is, and that means a lot to Hunter even if he feels it's probably not healthy to romanticize death that much. Ideally, he'd like to help her recognize the inherent potential for good that he sees in her, but for the meantime he's just happy for the time they get to spend together. |
CHARLOTTE GRAY character belongs to Shensation
>>> Gray's Refs: main ref (nudity) / outfit 1 / outfit 2 Blessed--or cursed--with powerful telekinetic abilities, Gray is very much alive but is convinced that she's a ghost that Heaven turned away. Moody, dramatic, and extremely passionate in everything she does, her life is a constant back-and-forth between anger and loneliness in a world she feels has rejected her. When she first re-encountered Hunter, Gray was furious at the idea that a Reaper had damned her to the seeming purgatory of Void City, but was won over by his warmth and patience. She loves his kindness and willingness to accept her volatility, and trusts him more fully than anyone else she knows. With Hunter, she feels alive and more like a whole person than a damned spirit. |
As a couple, they have their problems. Gray is constantly throwing herself into fights with other inhabitants of Void, much to Hunter's dismay due to the fact she has no innate healing powers and he's constantly worried about not being around to save her. Hunter, for his part, spends long periods of time away from the city in order to attend to his duties as Reaper and leaves Gray with entirely too much time to get into trouble.
Nonetheless, they're happiest together and enjoy what little semblance of normality can be found in Void. They currently share an apartment as a sort of loose home base, though both being there at the same time is less frequent than either would prefer. They both tend to be a bit sappy and romantic with each other. Sometimes found smooching in the graveyard, much to the irritation of Gravekeeper and pretty much everyone else.
